Superbowl Party Round Up

This post is a sham. I am not a “sporty” girl. I don’t watch sports or frankly know much about them. Karen loves to tell the story of high school football games. She was a cheerleader, my boyfriend Bo-Bo was a football player and I was at every game, in the stands wrapped in 5 blankets looking miserable. I tried to be supportive, but god, sports are just not my thing. Food, however, Oh food I know!
A sporting event where food is central. I am in. Here is my round up of the best superbowl party foods. Healthy? Yes. Delicious? Why would you ask me such a question! Of course. And also.. just decadent enough to work.
Alright sporty people, put on your jersey (or whatever you wear to a sporting event) and dig in to some of these goodies!
Best Ever Vegetarian Chili – Don’t scoff at this recipe because it’s vegetarian. This chili is so darn good no one will miss the meat.

Hot Artichoke Dip – This is only healthy enough. Plus the artichokes help your body metabolize alcohol. So there is that.

Zucchini Fries with Avocado Dip – No explanation necessary here. Just make these. If you don’t have almond flour around and have no need to be gluten free use some panko bread crumbs.

Dips – Dips- Dips – These are 2 of my favorites. Romesco sauce, which is super easy to make and so yummy with grilled veggies or grilled shrimp. And basil parmesan dip – you can literally dip anything in here but artichokes happen to be my favorite accompaniment. Want more dip ideas? Check out this article I wrote last year to throw a superbowl dip party: french onion dip, edamame guacamole, white bean roasted red pepper dip, and dessert hummus!

Crunchy Chickpea Snack – Ditch the chips and pretzels and other unhealthy “fillers” Make these instead. Just do it (that’s a sporty thing to say, right?)

And for a little extra football fun… Karen and I went tailgating at a Packers game last year. Have you seen this yet?
