We believe no two people are the same and have vastly different dietary needs based on many factors, i.e. physiology, stress levels, sleeping habits, ancestry, support system, goals, current/past diets, etc. With the guidance of a certified expert and food lover, who understands your specific situation, we can help you make dietary changes that promote longevity, healthy weight loss, and increased energy.
Proper nutrition has the power to help control blood pressure, diabetes, and improve heart health while empowering the body’s immune system to help protect it from foreign invaders like colds, viruses, allergies, and even cancer. Our specialty is strengthening all the systems of the body through nourishing food, pleasurable movement, and healthier thoughts which lead to a positive self image and a stronger motivation to take better care of ourselves.

We look at the WHOLE person. We know that your body, your health, and your life are intricately connected. It’s important to take all factors into account when devising a customized nutrition plan for an individual. It is not about counting calories or using fat-free dressing folks, it’s about eating what you LOVE, and LOVING how you feel!
We often say, what you eat affects your entire life and your entire life affects what you eat!

Portion control is important of course, but the truth is, eating nourishing, delicious food MINDFULLY is the key to reaching any health goal. When you are eating healthfully and mindfully, the calories don’t become as fundamental. It is extremely important that you implement all of your nutrition advisers suggestions. If you do, then you should see and feel results fairly quickly. Changing your diet will dramatically affect your mood, your skin, your sleep, your energy, and of course your waistline. You will get out of the program what you put into it. Karen and Abra will support you and encourage you but you must be willing to do the work.

Yes, if you are in the New York Metro area or the greater Los Angeles area we can meet in person. If you live anywhere else in the country (or world) we can speak by phone or skype. We currently serve clients in 10 countries!

Simply book a Nutrition Breakthrough Session and you will be directed to an online scheduler. You may then choose any time slot that works for you. Your Nutritious America counselor will call or skype you at the scheduled time. If you have any questions or concerns about your session please send an email to: info@nutritiousamerica.com and someone will get right back to you.
It is really important that you schedule your session during a time that you will be focused solely on the session. Please refrain from emailing, facebook-stalking, tweeting, driving, eating, karate chopping……. during your session. Your full attention is required for best results.

For best results we recommend a minimum of 6 sessions or our 3 month jump-start program. This of course depends entirely on your specific and unique needs. You and your health coach can decide what is best for you.

Books on health and weight loss are amazing! We have tons and tons in our own library. What a book cannot offer is accountability, support, and individualized attention. The internet is a fabulous resource, but boy is it confusing. Most Americans are on a HIGH FACT DIET! It’s difficult to navigate all of the nutrition info out there and know what’s applicable to you. A personalized, customized nutrition program is leaps and bounds more effective than a book or internet search.

We do not take health insurance, but many health insurance plans offer a FSA or flexible spending account, if you are enrolled in an FSA then our services are most likely covered. (it depends on plan and limitations)
